Job description
We are seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to lead the development of electronic circuits across the entire LexxPluss product line. This includes our flagship autonomous mobile robot (Lexx500), its towing accessory (LexxTug) and several innovative products currently in development. You will oversee the design and development of comprehensive electronic circuit systems, with a primary focus on circuit design for our autonomous robots. You will have the opportunity to influence multiple facets of product development and collaborate across disciplines, with the flexibility to contribute to other areas of robotics based on your expertise.
- Conceptual design of electronics systems (automated transport robots, etc.):
- In order to achieve business requirements and product objectives, we will conceptualize electrical circuit designs that take into account mechanical and software design.

- Electronic circuit board development:
- With the cooperation of in-house engineering resources and external partners, we will carry out the development of various PCBs to operate the Lexx500 and peripheral devices.
- We also have discretion over in-house and outsourcing of development.
- Component and board supplier control:
- We will hold meetings with partner companies in charge of procuring components and mass-producing boards, resolve issues in mass-producing developed boards, and smoothly carry out and maintain mass production.

- Cost reduction analysis:
- We will review the circuit design and parts used for the entire product and develop a development plan to reduce costs. The plan will be reflected in the product roadmap.

- Failure Analysis:
- You will use your expertise to plan countermeasures and lead improvement designs for defects that occur frequently or are difficult to repair using normal maintenance procedures, among the defects that occur in the electronic circuits of our products.
- You may also be asked to accompany business trips to customer sites.
Required Qualifications:
- Education : Bachelor's or Master's degree in electronic engineering or related field.
- Experience : Minimum 5 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree or 3 years with a Master’s degree.
- Technical Skills:
- Ability to create circuit design specifications.
- Knowledge of power supply circuits (DCDC converters, POL, LDO), microcontrollers, analog circuits, and connection circuits with sensors that have various interfaces (SPI, I2C, differential signals, etc.), from component selection to circuit design and PCB design.
- General knowledge of design to comply with EMI/EMC regulations, noise countermeasures, heat countermeasures, and static electricity countermeasures.
- Experience using circuit simulators (LTspice, PSpice, etc.).
- Experience using PCB CAD, from rule setting to placement and wiring.
- Ability to select and use oscilloscopes, current probes, power supplies, and electronic loads with appropriate bandwidth.
- Experience in a series of processes from design, prototyping, mass production, and problem solving.
- Experience with some type of microcontroller programming.
- Problem-solving skills:
- Strong problem-solving skills to conceive reliable and manufacturable electrical circuits.
- Language skills:
- Ability to write emails in Japanese to manufacturers (translation tools accepted).
- Ability to communicate in Japanese and English on chat tools such as Slack (Google Translate can be used).
- Ability to communicate in a mixed Japanese and English environment on a daily basis.
Preferred skills
- Basic conversational skills in both Japanese and English.
- Experience in a series of developments from circuit design to manufacturing using PCB CAD
- Experience in electronic circuit configurations connecting to systems with interfaces such as Modbus, Ethernet/IP, CANopen, EtherCAT, etc.
- Those who want to work with a broad perspective rather than focusing on a specific area such as requirements definition, design, or implementation only
- Experience in development of mass-produced products such as industrial equipment, automobiles, and home appliances
- Experience in drive circuits for DC motors and other actuators
- Those who can demonstrate high communication skills in a mixed Japanese and English environment
- Those who can improve the completeness of products by quickly repeating trial and error
- Those who have participated in various technical events and robot competitions, and have ample experience in personal development such as homemade keyboards
- Those who like robot development
- Those who are highly motivated to learn new technologies
- Those who have knowledge of embedded software development such as real-time OS
- Those who have knowledge of connector and cable selection and wire harness design
