Gran Manibus, a boutique consulting firm under SCSK and Sumitomo Corporation, is looking for a seasoned platform engineering expert to bring modern technology to reinvent business around Sumitomo which spans various industries. Modern engineering in Gran Manibus is a new area of investment, and we are looking for a talent who is aiming to build new business from the ground up.  

What You Will Do  

As a Platform Engineering Architect, you will be responsible for designing and implementing the client’s core infrastructure. This role requires a deep understanding of modern infrastructure technologies, cloud services, and automation. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, and product management, to translate strategic vision into technology. You will be primarily responsible for:  

• Design and Build: Develop and maintain the core infrastructure of our platform, ensuring it is scalable, reliable, and secure.
• Automation: Implement automation for infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployment processes.
• Monitoring and Performance: Set up and manage monitoring, alerting, and logging systems to ensure the health and performance of the platform.
• Collaboration: Work closely with software engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to design and implement new features and services.
• Security: Implement and maintain best practices for security and compliance.
• Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve infrastructure-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
• Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure, processes, and best practices. 

You will work for various projects in which you’d play consultants role as well as platform engineer. In addition, the role is expected to support pre-sales through working with client leadership and account team.  

What You Will Bring  

As a Platform Engineering Architect, you bring expertise in building platform vision and strategy, turn them into actual platform implementation through working with business stakeholders and engineers.  

Ideal candidate would have   

• Experience: Minimum of 8+ years of experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or related fields.
• Skills: Proficient in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), infrastructure as code (Terraform), and CI/CD tools (Jenkins).
• Programming: Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Go, or Bash.
• Monitoring: Experience with monitoring tools like Datadog.
• Security: Understanding of security best practices and experience implementing them in cloud environments.
• Excellent communication skills: Inspire and lead people toward the goal. Create and harvest culture to embrace success or failure to build a better tomorrow. 
• Extremely hands-on. 
• Native level Japanese (N1) and business or native level English.
• Comfortable to deal with ambiguity. 
• Self-directed and take ownership.
